Hello All, I'm fairly new to this forum, recently bought a 2000 Prerunner Ext Cab, V6, 4x2 to make a tent camping truck and decided to change the shocks & struts, after changing all the brakes. However, when changing brakes I realized that the whole steering rubber needs to be changed as most is dry rioted. So when I change shocks and struts I'm going to change everything. I'm not a mechanic so my question might sound not too knowledgeable, but google is giving me so many different answers I'm confused, therefore I come to the experts.

My question is, is this list below everything that I should change while doing or am I missing something because I want to have everything before I start so I can remember how to put back together.

X2 Front struts with coil springs.
    X2 Rear Shocks.
    X2 Sway Bar Links.
    X4 Ball Joints.
    X4 Tie Rod Ends.
X2 set of Control Arm Bushings.
    X2 stabilizer bar bush kit.

Let me say I'm not trying to make my truck anything crazy, just want to have quality parts that reduce the chances of stuff breaking on trips. If there's anything I'm missing in my list that should be or is easier to change while doing this type of rebuild please advise. Your help is much appreciated and Thank You in advance.

Make sure to replace the top hats. The top metal plate on the the coilover assembly that has the bolts up.you mentioned tie rods. Inner and outter correct? Inspect your rubber boots. Any cracking? Also on the bushing you must decide poly or rubber.

Please only use Toyota original equipment if you want to retain a quality ride. More money but it lasted this long for a reason.i would inspect valve cover gasket. Any signs of leaking? Inspect motor mounts, center Bearing on the drive shaft.

Sir, I can’t thank you enough. For tie rods yes I got both inner and outer, yes I agree on Toyota parts, and for the most part followed that rule, except for the rear shocks & front struts assembled, I did a lot of research on TW & on the web, & decided on some upper end Monroe’s, I haven’t installed yet, but they appear to be more heavy duty than what’s currently on, which is not Toyota originals. Your opinion is appreciated. In your second post yes the guy who is going to help me is an engine guy who will check everything for me. Thanks again.

Are you going to start switch over to poly bushing components? Most people will recommend them
