Steering wheel controls!

Is there anyway to put steering wheel controls on if you dont have them, and i have an 06 pre runner, would they work if you could?

 

Probably, but could be a pricey project, hard part to get would be the harness from steering wheel to headunit area, unless it is already in there. Would need the switch and possibly a different designed airbag and pad.

 

I would be willing to bet it is already there. I put the blu tooth controls in my truck. Just had to but the contols. They came from a 4 runner. Good luck, and be sure to keep us posted.

 

I did the same thing, except bought the part from Toyota. I just removed the blank that was there and added the blutooth plate. The plug was already there even though the truck didn't come equipped with bluetooth.

 

There used to be a guy on ebay that sold the steering controls. He had pictures of trimming the airbag cover to work with the controls. Looked decent but I don't know anyone on here that has done it. I would like to do this too. I think the wiring from the steering column to the radio is already there.

 

It is pretty easy to take off the airbag and look behind the blanks on the steering wheel to see if the wiring is there. I followed the instructions in this thread:

Probably wouldn't take a lot of time to just look and see if the wiring is there.

 

I remember seeing this too, but never heard of anyone here doing it.
