You don't take off the steering wheel to get it straight up, you adjust the tie rod ends on the front end. Unbelievably bad info.

You'd be surprised at how many people seem to think an alignment requires removing the steering wheel.

It's funny I had just replaced my old foam rubber steering wheel. Replaced it with a used leather one off of a 2012 Tacoma. No matter how much I tweaked the steering wheel, it's now off a hair just like JUJTacoma 2010! If you're not happy ask for your money back, and take your business elsewhere.

I will call firestone today and see what they say. I paid for a lifetime allignment package a few years ago for like $150 and I take my truck there twice a year.

No I took it back to the Tire Shop that did my alignment. They were very cool about it. Honestly I think someone forgot to check my steering wheel after the alignment since I noticed it later in the day after pick up.

the thing that concerns me is that I took my truck last weekend for the 2nd time and stated specifically that the steering wheel was crooked. they seemed to have over fixed it. I will call them today or maybe I will call a different firestone.

My buddies tundra had the same issue after alignment. We adjusted the tie rod end on both sides and got the steering wheel straight. Took 5min

The Hunter machine when using Wintoe on power steering rack tie rod vehicles specifically doesn't want you to lock the steering wheel in place because when you adjust the toe it is accounting for the movement within the steering wheel as you adjust the tie rods. At least this is what I was taught by the instructor at Hunter at the time when I was taught about alignments and the machine.

We drew a horizontal line from the tie rod end to the tie rod. This for tracking the amount of half turns you are gonna make. Then break loose the jam nut and turn the tie rod opposite of what the steering wheel needs to move. Do that to both sides. Retighten the jam nut and go for a drive. Readjust if necessary. His needed a full turn of the tie rod.
