Hey there everyone was wondering if anyone could give me insight on this, my steering wheel is off center a little, it’s so annoying it’s been like this for ever, I’m lifted in 35’s but this problem has been a thing since owning the truck on 31’s everything is new no alignment tech can get it straight no matter what it’ll go back to it’s center, I’ve tried adjusting from steering shaft it almost needs to just go 1 spline over but I can’t if I go one over it just goes the opposite way, anyway I’m wondering could I take the steering wheel off and center from there? It’s really annoying since I have to hold steering wheel to the right constantly

I would think it much easier to adjust the tie rods the same amount on both sides a tad the other way.

You can lock down the specs to perfect setting and half the time the steering wheel will be a little off to one side. The only way to verify is to test drive on a few different roads. If the car goes straight down the road, but the s.w. if off you can readjust the tie rods evenly to help center the wheel. But you have to put it back on the lift to do that. And then retest it. And possibly readjust to get it just right.
All that takes considerable extra time. Which you don't get paid for. Which is why most techs won't bother unless it's way off.

To answer your question, yes you can remove and replace the steering wheel, but the splines on the steering column input shaft are pretty large, so the adjustment will not be finite.

If the wheel is always slightly off to the right and the alignment tech is advised of this prior to setting the toe, he could offset it slightly to the left when finalizing the toe settings to correct it. I've had to do this once or twice on some vehicles.

Being slightly off like that, a small toe adjustment could correct that wheel. Without alignment specs its hard to say whats "wrong", but another issue (we have in texas) is if you have a perfect left and right alignment (symmetrical on both sides), the road curve, for water drainage, can cause the steeling wheel to be offcenter. Down here we run the passenger caster forward more than the drivers to account for this, 0 the toe or close as you can get and lowest camber you can get achieve without compromising the caster desired. My caster is 0.2 degrees greater on passenger over my driver side.
