Steering Wheel Radio Control Backlighting ???

    I thought for the longest time that my steering wheel controls did not light up. But the other day or night I should say, I noticed they were lit up! I was like, ok WTF? Then tonight on my way home I noticed they didn't work again until I turned the steering wheel one way or the other. So basically they only work when my steering wheel is upside down.

    I'm pretty sure I know what is wrong with it but I wanted to see what everyone on here thought about it.

    I'm sure it's the coil inside the steering column.

    Mmm... I don't know the design but I'd presume it's probably a brush contact or something that's worn...

    It's the same spiral wire assembly that passes the airbag and horn signal.
