I don't expect anything. I'm just asking the question in case there's something they could do. Asking the question is free and harmless. Buying new tires is not... LOL

@birry first and foremost, thank you for your business. We are sorry that you are having some difficulty with your current tires. The first step would be to contact your local store to see if a more thorough tire inspection could be done. If in fact there are any defects in the tires, there would be some type of credit we could render. I'm sending a DM your way to see if I can assist you further from my end.

Another follow up now that this has been (seemingly) resolved. Got a new set of Wildpeaks today to replace the suspect ones, and the ride was instantly smoother. Something was off about those tires from Day 1, but I stuck with them until it became unbearable. Lesson learned. Next time I get tires that wobble or throb, I'll take them back right away instead of waiting so long.

I appreciate the help from @Discount Tire . They worked with me to cover a little bit of my remaining miles on the tires, and resolved the issue very quickly today. Tires will be sent back to Falken for inspection, so we'll see what they say.

After going through the ass quality and service I’ve received from the shop I used for my current set of tires I know who I’ll be heading to for replacements next month.

No clue what your local store(s) are like, but I've had generally great experiences at all of my local DTs. We used another shop when we first moved to OKC, and they screwed up multiple things on multiple occasions, so we switched to DT and haven't looked back. I've taken both cars to them for new tires several times since 2014, and they've always been great. They even kept a store open for us past hours to assist when my wife's car got a puncture on the highway. It was a MAJOR relief to have them help like that.

    Long winded response.

It’s a local company with locations only in eastern wa and the panhandle of Idaho. The main brand they carry is cooper and usually have some decent sales or rebates on them. I’ve always gone to the same location for any tire service or tire purchases. Over that time span I’ve bought 3 sets of tires from them.

    AT3’s - which were ass

ST MAXX - which to date were hands down the best off-road and snow tires I’ve ever owned. Cons were they only carried them in E range and have since been discontinued.

AT3S4 - 50/50. Do okay in snow and fair off road. Con is they are a soft compound and chunk apart extremely easily when off pavement. Mine were thrashed after the first year.

The company has never been stellar but was decent enough to deal with for tires and never had any issues until...

I bought the current at3 s4’s fall of 2020. They didn’t have them on hand but said they could pick them up from another location the following day. I say no big deal.

Came to pick up. Inspected in the lot and noticed the tires have an insane amount of weight on each. One tire has 9 weights on it, 2 have 8 and the 4th has 6. Not the sticky ones inside the rims either, the extra large clamp on ones. Not happy I go in and ask wth. They said it is completely normal, I disagree, say bs I want different tires. Said they could order a different set but I’d have to wait 5-7 days and wouldn’t be able to take the truck home in the meantime. They then say to just drive it and come back the following week if I’m not happy and they will proceed with the next steps.

Not happy. Trucks shakes, vibrates and steering shimmy like a mf. Take it back on Monday the next week. They claim it’s probably my alignment. Disagree again, mentioning the 1lb of weights they have clamped to each one and that my alignment was fine prior to the new tires. So they tell me I have to wait another week for an alignment appointment because they are filled up and it’s the best they can do.

Next week comes and they do an alignment which cost me 120$. They don’t report any issues, damaged or worn components and that I was good to go.
Of course it doesn’t fix the issue.

Take it back again the next day and again say these tires are fucked and that their alignment didn’t do shit. They say they don’t think it’s the tires but could knock a little off the purchase of a new set if I wanted to go that route. But since I drove on the tires they are no longer new and there’s nothing else they can do. I was about this . close to going over the counter.

Dude... That sounds terrible. I also would have been really upset by that!

Really frustrating considering the tires were 3 weeks old and had less than 300 miles on them.

It’s all good though, I chalked it up as a lesson learned and will choose to take my wallet elsewhere. Tires lasted just shy of 3 years and almost 30k so it could be worse.
