did this end up working for you? Im running into the same issue now...problems and symptoms described in the original post...It started after a 14000 mile cross country trip and ironically only became noticeable when I removed the rack and rtt from the bed. I thought it might be the aftermarket wheels and tires so I swapped them to the originals I had laying around...still shook/shackes...I thought it was my front brakes initially as I found that one of my calipers wouldn't "open all the way back up anymore"...so with the whole front brake system replaced (rotor pads calipers) and the shake still there im looking to diagnose...

The rings seemed to have helped the vibrations slightly but they are still there at around 60 mph. Definitely a little better though.

As crazy as this sounds, look at your drum brakes. There should be little weights on them and you might've slung one off. One guy on here had vibes and a new drum solved it for him. I remember you had issues with your e brakes so maybe it's linked.

Just pulled the the rear brakes apart...besides them needing to be replaced and the parking brake fixed I found everything to be wet with grease when I opened the left rear brake...the seal in there seems to have gone bad and some of the grease is coming out into the drum...I guess I will replace that and the brakes and see if that does anything...I would be amazed if a rear brake issue could shake my steering wheel the way it does when it vibrates and wobbles...days of owning a lifted Xterra would have told me it was something in the front end but I guess I will see :/

Did doing this resolve your problem?
    I’m having the same issue!

Have someone balance the tires while you watch. If they are using a decent balancer and they have to add weight part way around after the first balance you have a bad tire where the belts are shifting inside the tire. The only answer is a new tire/s otherwise you have a wheel bearing that is going out.

YES! Sorry totally forgot about this thread! I had the seal replaced on that side of the axle and put new brake shoes and hardware in...I have no noticeable shake whatsoever...I actually cleaned the oil and grease off the brakes when I initially found out the seal was leaking and that already reduced the wobble...now that everything is dry and the shoes are new it rides buttery smooth (for how long remains to be seen :/

Its funny you say this was the fix. I just got an 09 tacoma about two months ago. The other day I noticed a shake in the wheel at about 60 mph. Shortly after it stopped, and then I hit a stoplight. I could smell brakes. Haven't smelled them or experenced wobble since. I'll have to check this to see if I've found the culprit.

So the other thing that I would check if I were you would be your front calipers....depending on how high milage your truck is they may need to be replaced...my truck (189,xxxmiles now) had an issue where my front calipers wouldn't open all the way back up on occasion...something about the pistons in the calipers...that would also create an issue on occasion where the truck would pull one direction or another....have all new hardware in the front now and don't have that issue anymore....calipers aint cheap though...
