I have recently installed bilstein 5100 and HS AAL in the rear on my truck. I also added 33in falken wildpeak tires and scs Ray 10 wheels. I’ve been driving it for quite some time now and when it gets to around 45mph, the steering wheel would start to shake a lot rapidly. I’ve had it balanced 3 times already from 2 different discount tires and still no luck. Any idea?

Sorry about that. 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-road. About 20k on the truck. I currently don’t have the alignment numbers on me but I got it done at pep boys.

    Could be a few things.

Either your alinement place isn’t doing it good

Your wheel bearings are going out (which is possible at that milage, just not likely)

Your tires are out of round, sometimes it happens from the factory

Or something might have worked itself loose over time after the lift.

Try rotating your tires first, it’s free and will get that option out the way

I also vote to rotate and see if the issue moves around.

    ...stuff
Rotating tires should always be the first move in something like this. It will rule out the cause being the tires or the truck

Didju try the 4wd elimination method. This might very well be it.

Could be the drive shaft. Did you add any angled shims to the rear springs? Carrier bearing drop? It only does it at 45 MPH? Vibration goes away at 55-60 MPH?

True ^^. I'd say, replicate the vibration, try 4hi while driving straight, if vibration goes away it's the needle bearing, if not, it might be pinion angle

It continues on when I increase speed. It doesn’t go away unless I’m at under 40.

So I tried it on 4hi and no vibrations what so ever. I swapped it back to 2wd and it had no vibrations for a while and then it came back when I going around 65mph. My guess is it’s the needle bearing that you mentioned.
