Hey Yall i have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Texas Edition with roughly 53000 miles on it currently. Im having an issue with my steering wheel shaking between 55-70 Mph and ive already done an alignment as well as a tire balance. I cant seem to figure out exactly whats going on with it. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank yall.

Was anything done to the truck right before this started?
If not a simple thing maybe:
Tacoma really need a road force balance on the front tires that checks the heavy spots on the rim and tire and they can rotate the tire on the rim to offset. Also checks for a bad tire/ripped cords or just bad manufacture - yes even new tires can be so out of balance they should not be used. If you have a lot of balance weights on the tire that is a sign. If shop did several weights in different areas of the rim their balance was crap. Over the years had several bad balance experiences so now I always ask if shop has road force machine. Discount tires usually do and many dealers (but dealer can cost over $50.) A recent flat repair can also cause with a bad balance.
This is first thing to do but many other possible causes - shocks, steering rack or damper in steering wheel, suspension, etc. Do not chase these really until you rule out the balance for real.

Broken belt will do that, but surely they'd have caught that during the balance process.

Balance or warped rotor - usually caused by those wonderful sticking calipers.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    Alignment can do it.

"In spec" doesn't always mean it's good.

I had a bad vibration at speeds of 45+. Turns out it was a bad steering rack. No more vibes.

so since we are talking vibrationss! im about ready to throw this truck away! i have 12 tacoma BRAND NEW WHEELS and BRAND NEW STOCK RIMS because of this shaking and its still there! and when you hit a bump the wheel is darty and goes everywhere. dont even think of getting in a draft behind a 18 wheeler cause they truck is walking the road. HELP! lol im so over it. my fiance is a mechanic and checked the front end nothing is loose or seems to need to be changed. i work at a dealer ship and even got the guys there to look at it. the only thing they could find was a lil play in my swing bearing but they said it was not enough to make it shake as bad as it is.

    OP,
If you rotate your tires, torque your lug nuts properly. I always ask the shop I go to, please don't use a impact to tighten lugs.

    Welcome Aboard

I would get my alignment checked. It sounds like one wheel is out making it drive a little Squirrely

The "darty" usually means caster is out. Alignment should fix you up.

Only a grand for wheels and tires. You did good. Mine was 2300. That hurt.
