I have been having severe front wheel shake under braking and it has been getting worse. Stock rotor with TRD pads. Love the combo but after a I had to lock them up at 70 or so the vibration has been getting worse.

I am one that never turn rotors, but they are only about 6 months old. Worth finding a shop to turn them or just get new rotors. I thought I read someplace that the metal has a memory and it may come back after breaking.

Keep OEM rotors or do something different.

Or is there something else to look at that I may be missing?

They need to be turned on the truck. Not on a bench lathe.

The only issue with getting them turned is that it might be cheaper or the same price just to get new rotors.

Probably just brake pad residue. Go find an empty road where you can make repeated hard braking runs from 55 to 10 mph and see if that solves it before having the rotors turned.

I’ll give it a shot- think they are beyond that but doesn’t hurt to try. Just need this ice to go away first.

Does it shake every time you brake now? Or, is it intermittent. I have the brake and shake problem, but it is not consistent. Sometimes it shakes whenever I brake. Sometimes it is fine. It is more common if the brakes are warm. If it were warped rotors,. wouldn't shake everytime I brake?

Rotors don't warp. It's a hunk of cast iron. If you managed to get them hot enough to warp the brake fluid would have boiled and you'd have lots 'o problems.

Try cleaning the rotor (both sides) with an aggressive scotchbrite pad and brakekleen to see if you can remove the pad material build up.

Whether you need new pads or not, after cleaning follow a standard brake bedding procedure.

Sounds the rotors have lost the ability to stay straight/true when they get hot. Probably time for new ones.

If the problem was pad material build up, it would shake all the time hot or cold. Just that fact that the temp makes a difference in shaking means that it's not brake pad material. Brake pad material isn't temperature sensitive, but metal can be.
