But could they warp the rotors in one day of service? Gosh, I find that hard to believe.

I mean, coming down a mountain at 100mph and slamming on the brakes down to 0 could probably warp them. Its not impossible for a jackass to be a jackass, but the kind of thing's you'd have to do to "subtly" warp a rotor in 0 time without leaving evidence, aren't likely, or something a sane person would do for a possible "add on" brake replacement job.

Maybe they held the brake pedal down, put it in 4high and drive, and just redlined the motor for half an hour before you picked it up. You know, so they could make $75 in labor for swapping out 2 rotors and pad's in an hour. Stimulating business. If it was me though, I'd op for putting DEF in the fuel tank. Takes less time, Result's in a bigger sale.

If the shop didn't ask to take a look at the work they did, I would be inclined not to use them again. If it wasn't shaking before this job, the shop should at least want to give a quick inspection to make sure everything was put back together right and every bolt was tightened down properly.

So I had a shaking steering wheel when braking, thinking I needed rotors.
Going through these forums I found a suggestion that it could be glazing(?) on rotors. Anyways, following suggestions, I went for a ride and heated the brakes (stopping hard without locking).
    Cleared the issue.
I drive a manual transmission, so gear down braking a lot, which can cause my symptoms.
    Hope this helps. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@CreerFreer64 Welcome and congrats on your new to you Tacoma truck. It'll all come together and you'll have an awesome truck!

There's a debate about how over torquing lug nuts can cause rotors to "warp." Maybe yes, maybe not.
I had the steering wheel shake on my 07. It would come and go, but it happened more than not so I changed the front rotors and pads. That was like three years ago and there is still no shaking steering wheel when braking. I also added a second spring clip that cured the "pad slap."

Here's a link that helped me to select the rotors. I bought some for my wife's vehicle this past February and they doubled in price since dolng mine. But what hasn't!
