Just a bunch of old crap
I also highly suspect that your factory Bilstein shocks may be worn out. How old are they? If they are 5 years old, or older, they're toast and will amplify any issues you have with suspension, balancing, etc. Something to consider getting taken care of, and probably a good opportunity to upgrade to a beefier shock.

I had a similar problem, no matter how many times the wheels were balanced. Finally I found a tire shop (Discount Tire) in NC near Charlotte, they use the Haweka adapter when balancing. Night and day difference. I am needing tires soon, I will have to find a shop out here in California that uses the adapter.

It is the tire balance. For some reason, regular balancing on some trucks don't cut it. Haweka FTW...

There's tire/wheel balancing... and there's "Road Force Balancing". Makes a difference. TW is full of threads about poorly balanced wheels on Tacoma's causing wheel shake.

when i was in there they said if i put the weights on rim face. the hammer on kind. that it would balance better. is that Road force balance . cause all my weight is tape weight in the center of rim on inside.

You can use the tape weights, I do because I hate what the pound on weights do to the outside of the rim. Since Toyota truck wheels have a huge backset, putting the tape weights as close as possible to the outside edge of the inside of the rim, it works perfectly. I don't care about the inside rim edge, so I have them use the pound on weights there. Works just fine and dandy..

A good balance may require weights both inside and outside. I took my truck to Sears in the past and they had an adapter for the tire balancer with "Tacoma" stamped on it. The guy used it, but my balance wasn't good. The next shop I tried did not have an adapter for their machine, but they did have a road force machine and that made all the difference in the world. So some machines require and adapter, and others don't apparently. My tires are 31 x 10.5 R15. Also I noticed a big improvement switching to Michelin tires. In the past I also used Goodyear and Yokohama, and the Michelin just seemed to be rounder and ride smoother for lack of a better description.

No, road force is where the machine puts a load on the wheel while it is spinning, to simulate the weight of your truck on the wheel while it is spinning.

Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
I have had the same issue with tire balance. I bought my Tacoma with stock TRD OFF ROAD wheels. No issues. Had Michelin ' s put on smooth as glass . Then I got that wild hair to get after market wheels and I had Hankook A T in 265 /70/ 16. Put on them and that's when it began . Vibration and wheel shake at 53 mph and at 60 to 70 mph. Had them balanced and rebalanced . Also had them road force balance done with no luck . Went back to my stockers with Michaline ' s and smooth as glass. Now I am get that wild hair again . Only I want to reuse my Michaline on the new wheels and get the road force balance done. Question is am I going to have the same issues? Freaks me out to think of going throw that again ! Any advice?
