I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Just to be clear Nfab steps are just steps not sliders they are not intended to be used as a lift point or beat on the rocks. They bolt to the factory running board mounts on the body so they are just steps as well as the Avid "bolt on sliders" those too are just steps. "Real Sliders" are made from at least .120 wall tube and welded or bolted the frame of the truck. They are designed to take a hit from the truck dropping down off a ledge or rock and not bend side steps will buckle if they hit the ground as well as damage the body of your truck. most steps are made from .065 wall tubing.

@JLee, I see you added the 2016 sliders on your site. I know you were saying that you had a frame bolt-on for the 2016s, but the website only says 01-15. What the word on that?

I have these installed (2 step version). I'd probably prefer the slider bars with bump out for stepping on.. after the fact... Nfab bars are +$500 which is too much IMHO looking at whats out there now.

+1 - Nfab bolt to the chassis not the frame. I'd prefer these but they were not ready when I was ready to spend$$ - if my nerf bars get bent I'll be going with these to replace. I'd prefer sliders bolting to the frame.

Honestly they are not much different then the 2nd gens the plate is still 90% the same all the bolt holes are the same we just had to do some slight modification to the front plate with the new frame supports and that's really it. The pics will be on IG and the this thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bamf-true-100-no-drill-bolt-on-sliders.366293/

Cool. So if I want to order them, do I still click the "Bolt-On" option that says 01-15 only?

Also, any promo codes you're offering to help out with shipping?

Being that I'm not doing rock climbing I think the nfab will work fine for me. I like that it has a removable step also.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Just my $0.02... I think you're thinking the only reason that you would want the sliders is due to off-roading. Not really the case. The N-fabs don't do such a great job at side protection. The way that they're mounted, it gives a big opportunity for doors to still hit the side of the truck. Sliders eliminate that risk. On top of that, you get the support and jack points that bars will not give you. Lastly, it gives you the selling point/offroad option way down the road if you change your mind.

Obviously you are going to go with what's best for you, but I just wanted you to have the info you needed. I don't plan to do any serious offroading, but after the research... the sliders were a no-brainer for me.

I went with Avid Oddroad bolt on sliders. They bolt to the factory step mounts so they are not any good for any serious off roading(rock crawling). But they give the look of sliders and offer a good step and door ding protection. I really wanted the BAMF's but after shipping would have cost close to $300 more than the Avids, and I just couldn't justify spending that much as I will never do any rock crawling

We bought the rails with the steps welded to the 3" tubes.... I would go that route - not much different than the bolt on ones cept you have yo bolt them on, likely hood of taking them off to go crawling is ???, if you hit the nfab with a btm out on rocks its probably not going to end well for the nfab and the bolt on steps are not rounded so probably more likely to hang them up on something tbh. I'd go with the 3" tube and the steps built in - and is what I have now and they look good and perform well for what they are.
