So I own a 2016....hooked up an aftermarket head unit and amps no problem. The other day I hooked up an amp and some new door speakers in my friends 2019 sr5. Now he says the alarm keeps going off. Never ran into this issue prior. We used his factory head unit and a line out connector to hook up the rca cables. Any idea what could be causing the alarm to go off?

Welcome to the forum. I’m going to guess a short somewhere. I’d disconnect the door speakers and see what happens.

I'm going to check all connections. He bought all the parts, which included some cheap jumpers for the line out connector, which is an audiopipe brand. It had a REM wire coming off the input side but not off of the output, only rca jacks. I hooked the rem up to his gray ign wire off the back of the head unit. I used a similar setup in mine until I decided to spend the extra $$ and get the Pioneer unit.

I'd check to make sure the door triggers didn't get messed up. Does the dome light work when a door is opened?

Tell him to just thank you for your help, and stop crying.

This is why I stopped helping most folks out. I'd do a valve adjust and oil change, and I week later they are whining about a rattle in the bed. Claiming there was no rattle before the work. People can be Fing Stupid.

Yeah double check everything in the door to make sure no wires got pinched or damaged.

do the doors lock and unlock like normal? do the dome/map lights turn on/off with the door? Have you disconnected the battery for a minute and reconnected? might need to just let everything reset
