    I have a 2012 tacoma prerunner sr5 double cab and i want to upgrade the stock stereo to a touch screen my wife has a 2013 highlander and i have already replaced her touchscreen non nav unit to a nav unit and my question is will the touchscreen non nav unit from her highlander fit in my tacoma with a standard double din dash kit or has anyone done something similar and knows if the wiring is the same for both cars or if there is more too it that i haven't considered before i try to swap then out

    The radio harness should fit. Most of the toyota use the same harness for the radio

    Physically, it will take some modification... That highlander radio is very much different than your Tacoma radio. You won't be able to mount it with a standard aftermarket double din kit without some serious modification...
    As far as wiring goes, there may or may not be splicing involved. Easiest way to know that is to remove your current radio and compare harness with connections on radio...

    Yea i just took out my stock radio and all major plugs plug right up but no bluetooth or steering control or antenna for the radio and the standard dash kit is not wide enough to accommodate the new head unit took it to a local shop to c how much it would be to get it fitted and fully functional and lets just say I'm gonna keep the stock unit in the truck not worth the reword just to have a touch screen thanks for the help all..
