Got a question maybe somebody can help me out. My stereo makes a high frequency sound when the volume is all the way down. And the frequency goes up when I give my truck more gas. When the rpms go up it goes up. I've checked the grounds they are all good. Any thoughts

manethon is right. What your hearing is 'alternator wine' also called ground noise. I can hear it very faintly in mine when I have my stereo on, paused, and am driving.

I assume you have a stock stereo and no amp? One trick you can try is to ground the stock stereo to some metal behind the dash.. Ground as close to the device as possible. This goes double for an amp.

Have you grounded the amp with a really short wire as well? I dremeled out some paint and grounded mine to the sheet metal under my seat. The ground wire is like 4" long

Did you run your RCA's next to your power cable? What you are describing could be a result of the interference from those large power wires being right next to your RCA's.

I ran the driver side speaker rcas with the power under the rubber guard. but that's it the passenger side don't have any power cord next to them.

Speaker wires and RCA's are two different things... The RCA's coming from your head unit to your amplifier is what I was referring to. Are they ran next to the power wires? If they are, I would suggest choosing another route.

sorry I didn't clarify, I know the difference between speakers and rcas but yes I will try that as well if grounding the hu doesn't work.
