This morning started my truck i notice the stereo started to flickr. I turn on my headlights it dont do it, only with headlights off it flickers. I dont have any mods on my headlights there stock, since i read some HID mods had some wiring issues that made the stereo flickr. So now driving to work about 6 miles in get on the freeway my stereo flickr completely stops. Could this be the alternator, cause recently i replace my battery last December.

Stereo JBL 09 on a TRD Sport.

    Anyone ever had this issue?

I would look for a bad ground somewhere in your stereo system. Easy way to tell if it is is to run a wire from the case of the radio to any ground point and see if that solves the problem. If not then you have a 12 volt problem.

I've had radio problems since mine was new. (2009) Do a search and you'll find that you are NOT alone. I eventually replaced mine after the dealer attempted to "fix" it EIGHT TIMES! It's a crappy Mexican unit.

Yeah i heard about some units being defected. I did double check when i got home from any loose or maybe chewed wire from a rat, i heard rats like to make nest under your hood but thing of that. My brother in-Law knows more about electranics, he didnt find anything. He just told me it could of been my dimmer was set on low. Havent had an issue since Monday morning.

My radio has been doing this for maybe the past few months. The LED fades light and segments are missing in the numbers and letters depending on what mode I'm in. 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport with JBL.

My radio has been turning itself on and off for about a year

No flicker ... It's just turns on if it's off or if it's already on it just shuts down

Smooth paved road, dirt road, wherever ... Doesn't do it everyday

Mine does this as well. I'll hit pre-set #2 for example and it will eject a CD and then shut off. Only way to turn it back on is to shut the truck off and restart it.
