So.... We have an '18 Pro (non-JBL) and over the last few days, the stereo has randomly shut off and restarted itself twice. The only commonality that my wife reported was that it occurred when she was trying to make a call. Don't know if that is coincidence or causality though?

I read all of the threads I could find related to this issue, however, the ones I found didn't reach any sort of conclusion.

Unfortunately, I have made several modifications (Hoangde harnesses, amp/speakers, front camera, etc.) that I'm sure the dealer would immediately point to as the cause. I'm not saying it couldn't be, but I'm meticulous on my wiring (all wires tinned/crimped/soldered/glue-impregnated heat shrink, F6 braided cable, Tesa taped, etc.). Considering their likely response though, I'd prefer to source the fix from TW rather than fight with the dealer.

Have you had any experience with this issue that you've successfully resolved?

    Thanks in advance!

There may be an update for the radio if your still under warranty it should be free i would try that first. Pretty sure you can download the update to a usb drive from toyotas website if there is one available, ive never done it that way tho.

Thought the update fixed the issue for me but it has started to restart again after making a call.. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem? It only restarts when attempting to make a phone call - and only probably about 1/3 calls this happens.

Mine has been doing this forever. It happened when apple pushed a software update (can't remember which version) to my phone and has never recovered.
