i agree with slowcoma666 on this one. you DO have to do everything you think you don't have to do. maybe worst case is you do the speakers ( plates will have to me made or bought ) if you can and then pay someone to install the amp. there is quite a bit of work involved ( if you do it to a pros standards ) and also tuning it. if you take it to a rep. place you will get a warranty too. sometimes it is easier to pay just a little money and save your time and know its done right. (if not, then that's where the warranty comes in). how much is your time worth? instead of "youtubing" some hack videos you could use that time to enjoy your music.

It's ok to do it yourself, but messing with installing a LOC can be challenging if you've never done it yourself. At the very least, find some local friends to help out.

Fair enough, but if you can't be bothered with elementary things like fusing, you may reduce your 'baby' to a pile of ashes.

I took mine 2nd gen and just had everything done by a reputable shop. It's worth it not to screw something up.

I learned that it can the hard way. I didn't destroy my car, but I did a number on it. I think I was like 17 when it happened and had zero sense then, but I was driving with a buddy one night when we started smelling smoke. I pulled over & pulled the cover off that hid all my dash wiring and there was a fire in there. I had a fire extinguisher (old dry powder kind) and got the fire put out, but it made a hell of a mess. Had I not had that extinguisher, my car would have burned to the ground right there. It destroyed all the wiring behind my dash - took me weeks to fix it and remove as much of the fire extinguisher mess as possible.

    Fuses are important.
