I am upgrading my stereo in my 2003 Taco crew cab and have a few questions . The stereo I purchased is the JVC KW-XR810 which has 50wx4 and i have purchased 4 Kicker KS680 6x8 to replace the stock door speakers will the power of the head unit be enough to push these speakers or should i get an amp? If i need an amp what would you guys recommend? I am also planning on putting subs in if i can but, i want the largest I can put behind the rear seat. I was looking at the kicker shallow line of subs and want two 10" will this fit behind my seat? I need all the help I can get on this one sence it has ben years since I have installed a full stereo upgrade.

If you really want it to sound good dont go with Kicker Subs. Its gonna cost you but JL Audio makes an amazing shallow mount sub called a tw5. but im not really sure about it fitting behind the seat. And about the headunit being able to power the doorspeakers. yes it will power them. but it would sound better and be louder if you did run an amp to them.

And if you cant fit em behind your seat here is an idea. This is what i did for my 01 Crew cab. It takes up quite a bit of room but it looks good.

dont get me wrong the Kicker is good for the price. But im a JL guy. I really like the quality of their products. I have never had a probem with any of my JL stuff. And i started out with kicker and blew a total of 3 10s one comp, and 2 CVR's.

Just a bunch of old crap

Theft magnet. That wouldn't last a day here in Phoenix. You'd come out from the grocery store with a busted window and a trail of wires leading out your door. Best to go as low-vis as possible, and sadly it means compromising good quality sound but that's the world we live in.

That was my first concern building my box like that but i have had it like that for about 2 years. Most of the time with no window tint. Its still there. I have window tint now so you cant reall see it. Especially at night. But even if they did get in the only thing that would happen is my window would be busted and they could steal is my headunit. I promise nobody would even have any idea how to get that box out of there.

Thanks for all the help but I really want to keep the subs behind the seat because I have children. I need alll the room I can get. I want the biggest bang for my buck. I just need to know what size will fit back there and where I can get a box that will fit behind my seat?

Is there any pre made boxes out there for this sub?I figure I have a $600 dollar iPhone why don't I put a nice high end sub in my truck. I think it will out preform the two 8s I was gonna use.

GREAT CHOICE!!! not sure about any boxes. you might have to get that custom made. but be sure with those subs that you get the right amp to them. go with JL if you dont mind spending the money.

Don't get me wrong kickers will be a loud sub but they just don't have the quality sound and they probably wont last as long as a JL or diamond woofer.

Post some pics up of the JVC KW-XR810 when you get it installed.
It was on my list of stereos that I was considering.
I like the fact that it has changeable colors on the buttons.
I didnt like the fact that the button colors changed but the display stayed the same color regardless what the button color was.
I am particularly interested in what the ipod display looks like.

Ive had my kicker for over a year now with no probs. the SQ isnt as good as a round sub but its loud as fuck! i also have a CVR 12, thats over 5 yrs old, that i use for my home theater system and it shakes the whole damn house! JL makes good speakers, but theyre to overpriced IMO. Whenever i get tired of my kicker ill be going with Alpine Typ-R's or X's if i can find a good deal on them.

Ok I have installed my door speakers and they seem to be vibrating now they did not fill the factory hole like the factory speakers did. What can I do to keep the rattling from happening this is very annoying and it sounds like crap.
