Prayers and support to the Jobs family. This news hit me and not because it was Jobs and Apple. My girlfriends mother was diagnosed with the same cancer a few months back. Its sad to say but it is a death sentence, no cure. I think he was blessed to live, what was it, 7 years after being diagnosed. I only hope the same to my gf's mom. To anyone, anywhere diagnosed with any type of cancer I pray and hope for miracles. To Jobs, what a revolutionary. We were fortunate to experience someone as intuitive, visual, and creative as him.

As great of an innovator he was, and as much of a tertiary loss will be felt on all of us, I still don't feel bad enough to purchase that iNferior4S they announced on Tuesday.

    RIP, Steve.

... Obviously no reasonable person would run out and buy an apple product just because Jobs died. This isn't a tread about how bad apple is.

Not a fan of Macs at all, but I fully respect Steven Jobs. It's a great loss of a brilliant mind.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

His passing should remind us what is right with America and capitalism. He had an idea and dream, launched products and services that have changed our lives and was rewarded handsomely.

Don't blame wall street or corporations for the ills of the world. Doing so could stop the next Steve Jobs from making the next big thing.

Everyone associates him with Apple. He also took a huge gamble on Pixar...and had a profound effect on animated movies (and if you get down to the nuts and bolts, CGI.). He was also responsible for NeXT which Apple acquired--the NeXT user interface was influential not only in Apple products but Sun, Silicon Graphics, HP and other computer makers of the time.

The things Jobs did changed entire industries. His products and vision have changed our culture too.

Not too many people have had that kind of affect.

RIP Steve Jobs and may your family find peace in this time of great sadness.
