anyone have experience with sticky brakes on the first gen? i noticed that it's worse when the brakes are cold. it takes almost no pressure and they seem to seize the rotor. once i've driven it a few mins, it seems to go away. the brake pads look good and the rotors look smooth.

Getting any oil or grease on the Rotor at all.

From it sitting just enough to grab but not enough to make a big mess

Sounds like the piston(s) are sticking a bit. Verify by pulling the caliper and checking even wear on the pads. My truck did the same when I bought it new.

I suggest up-grading to the Tundra rotors & calipers too, big difference in stopping power.

    God luck.

I sometimes notice this if it's rained the night before. The brakes will "grab" a little more when I first start out. They return back to normal after a little driving.

You could try pulling the pads out and placing sand paper on a flat surface. Wear a mask. Then rub the pads over the sandpaper just enough to scuff them.
