This sucks more than digging the effing post holes but I think I have it dialed in now to where one panel will take under 2 hours (which is good because I have 10 panels to go for the front yard).

I should start a business building fences.... they charge crazy prices here (bid was $14,000 for just under 300ft of fence). I'll be into this for about $5,000 in materials and it'll be built with better quality materials than the contractor was going to use.

I just saw the insurance claim for my MRI and the April/May infusions....I'd be so fucked if I didn't have insurance.

$10k for imaging and $5k for the infusions....annual costs for imaging and infusions is $40k so when you add on all the lab work and other shit it quickly becomes a hole that I'd never dig out of. It'd be one thing if this was a onetime medical issue but the scans and infusions are going to be for the rest of my life (unless some major medical breakthrough happens).

No lies. My FIL was recently diagnosed with a tumor outside his bladder that needs to be removed, and has been in hospitals since May 5th. Still in rehab now. Got a whiff of the Medicare bill so far; I could buy a bigger house for what was billed. What was paid is far, far less.

So...lemme get this straight. You bill for 4 to 5 times actual cost just in case someone will pay it, but will accept significantly lower amounts that are close to the real value of service?

    THAT is what needs fixed.

Yeah, it's a fucking racket @CaptAmerica. In 2014 my insurance was billed over $700k and paid out just under $300k.

Last year I had to get a blood transfusion at an out of network hospital and they billed my insurance $2,600. Insurance said the agreed upon rate was $1,300 but didn't pay anything because I hadn't met my out of pocket deductible so the hospital sent me a bill for $2,600 and when I tried to appeal to only pay the agreed upon rate from my insurance they said tough and I was stuck with the full bill.

Everyone says today's medical care plan is good. And the fact that anyone can buy and not be denied is good. The fact nothing changed with respect to cost control is what causes your premium and out-of-pocket to be twice what they were before hand.

IMHO, the problem lies in that insurance companies sell shares to investors to turn a profit. It puts the focus on making money than actual patient care.

Life's too short for shitty beer and bad coffee (both of which should be criminalized).

New place opened up down the street. 71 beers on tap. Mostly good. So the whole shitty beer thing's been taken up a notch or two.
