If it gets stiff at certain points of a turn, it may be the intermediate shaft.

I was just going to ask this same question. I have a 2005 with only 63K and my steering feels like it gets stuck at certain positions, almost like it I have to force it free. Just doesn't feel normal. Is this most likely the intermediate shaft joint locking up?
Is there a way to know for sure before getting fixed? Thanks

OK, That was fun ,but what about that power steering problem. Anymore real ideas or solutions. I don't think many guys come to Tacomaworld for a comedy source.....

Put lubricant on the shaft and work it back and forth. That should make the stiffness go away.

Thanks to the adults that responded to my question. I did lube that shaft & it worked well. Thanks again.

not going to lie, I thought the lube and work it comment was not serious advice but now I am not sure.

In any other context, I would've had to disagree with this statement.

It basically walks you through doing what @Muddinfun advised. Should loosen it up for you.
