Hey guys, I need your help on the problem im having. So i got a 2019 tacoma and i had a shop Install for
me a rough country 3 inch lift kit. So after 2 weeks of having the lift installed My passenger cv outer boot Had torn apart for some reason. So i took it back to the shop. They intalled a oem boot on the truck. But now for some odd reason the clamps on the boot keep unclamping or falling off. At first the small one would just slide off its place So they retighten that one. But now the big clamp keeps falling off. I lost the first one. Got a new one from toyota got the shop to install that one. And that one fell off after Driving the truck for some hours . So now I have a brand new truck just sitting on my driveway. I dont know what to do. I need help guys. Has anybody had the same problem after installing a lift? Any suggestions on what to do

Only thing I can suggest is find a better shop. They obviously don't know what they are doing. Some do have boot problems 3" lifts (Fins rubbing) Boots slide is what they do.

Just clean it up yourself and buy a worm gear clamp from Autozone.

They will work, but so will the one that is on there if it still in good shape. Both surfaces have to be completely clean/dry, no residue of grease at all. If it were mine I would pull axle, clean and assemble/reassemble it out on a bench. 2nd option take it to better shop as mentioned earlier. You have one hell of a mess to clean-up. Sorry to hear, that first shop screwed you.

If the boot was pushed too far in the axle shaft, this will happen. There could be one or two ridges where the small end of the boot needs to be placed.

Buy a worm gear clamp, some rags and a bottle of brake cleaner. Ten minutes and you’ll be on your way with a clean truck and secured cv boot.

Just snip the old one off and take it to the hardware store for reference. I did this on mine 6k miles ago.

Measure the diameter of the inner joint where the boot sits.
