yea, i interviewed with Chevron and Exxon a few years back...i'm not really interested in that side of things, but i have done a bunch of work in the O&G sector, just not in exploration. more once they've identified a play and looking to develop...or new pipeline construction. The only thing with the O&G sector is they've got bags of money to pay people with...i know a few guys that went into it after school and bought houses and shit like a year later...(although they do have to live in Houston).
Those projects took me to some wild places over the years though...

First real job I ever had when I was 15 was working for a guy who was an O&G geologist.

He owned the pizza shop I was working at lol. Industry chewed him up and spit him out for one reason or another.

Oh yea, no. Idk what that was about and hard to find anyone that does really, was probably just regular weed stock hype. It's good, they have locations. If they have bathrooms open to public you could definitely pee fearlessly there

yea, like 70% of the work force is dispensable...if prices take a dump, a shit ton of people get laid off.

and if you're in the field...it's long days, or like long months...i met guys that were doing 6 month rotations in the middle of nowhere africa.
up shot was that all their stuff is paid for, and cause they don't live in their home country for 6 months, they don't pay income taxes....those dudes were pulling hella money...but it's a lifestyle you gotta get comfortable with.

I just wanted someone to pay me a 100k a year to backpack around Alaska and find cool rocks. Apparently those jobs are few and far between lol. I have a buddy who actually got to do that on a gov contract, but he was looking at exploded ordinance impact on terrain outside of a military base.

i did get to work up on the Kenai for a few months.
one of my tasks was to drive on the beach in a rigged out jeep and map the coastal bluffs...pretty fucking sweet.
per diem was 86 bucks a day...i saved it up and got a fishing charter out of Homer for king salmon and halibut...that was a good job.

Turns out a lifted prius looks a lot like a set of rollerblades with bigger wheels on them.

With the bumpstops you'd need to keep those tires from destroying the wheel wells, I'm guessing that lovely vehicle has about an inch and a quarter of travel
