For the first time in over 4 years Linux Mint's new kernel finally failed to load my graphics card. That's not to bad since it used to be an every kernel update thing BITD. Time to remember some command line. lol

 

Good luck with that. My knowledge of Linux is severely deteriorated at this point, so I can't help

 

No clue on Linux, but I was trying to play Pinehurst #6 tonight against my daughter and I think my graphics card overheated and crashed my golf sim. First world problems...

After rebooting, we went to a 95 yd pitching challenge and she came from behind to tie me. For once, I was actually hitting well, she normally kicks my ass.

 

It was just a broken dependency. Still wonder how the devs missed it. Guess not to many people are running GTX 970s anymore. I filed a bug report with NVDA and Mint. The quick fix was to load Noveau, which is a generic Ubuntu driver. Works perfect now.

 

970 is still a beast of a card all things considered. And how did the devs mis the dependency? Well, if they're anything like the devs I know in real life they were probably half stoned and had their video game or bizzare porn of choice on the 3rd monitor while they were working on the kernel. Can't judge them for that lol

 

I still run one in windows 10 pro. Asus strix gtx 970
