So my boss sold his 20k worth of AMC week before last. His average was low 7.xx and he asks me last Thursday and says what should I buy. I told him buy AAPL puts for this week. Told him snag a few 145’s. He decides to just not think and puts 5 k into AAPL puts last Friday second half of market hours. I don’t know exactly what his entry was. But the amount of money I’ve made this man that I won’t just trust my gut… this, CTXR at 1.60 on the dip pre 4$. Got him in on ASO before I even owned it. Got him into PLTR around 20 and he sold around 26 per share. Yet all of these I didn’t do the same. I do own some ASO but not nearly as much as I felt I should’ve bought. I need to work on not second guessing. It’s just money after all.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Genuinely if I knew I could constantly make other people money even if it guarantees that I wouldn’t
I’d still be happy to do that every day.

it pays far more in life to do for others, than it ever does to do for yourself

Be careful who you believe. There's plenty of people to unload them. I work in the industry. The yards are completely out of room, most companies are not picking up with their containers from the yard because they have warehouses that are overloaded. The rail system in this nation is overloaded right now. Union Pacific just announced they are not picking any containers up in the port of LA Long Beach for seven days because said they have to try to clear their backlog. So that's another stoppage of an operation at the port. Not enough truckers to pick up containers because companies aren't paying those truckers enough money. The shipping companies would love for everyone to believe that it's the fault of Labor. They have not invested in enough equipment to handle this kind of influx. Just take a look at the numbers of containers handled since the pandemic. Every single month is breaking records. Yeah there was a few months where they were short on labor because of the virus spreading quickly down here, but even if they had the amount of bodies there wasn't enough room in the yard and enough equipment to handle this volume. It's just a fucked situation across the board. We need to make more stuff here. But companies don't want to pay for it. Meanwhile, back in Yantian, Chinese sports and warehouses had a big covid out break and had to halt a lot of operations last month. So now our ports are going to be slammed when all that cargo starts getting here. Oh, and the typical peak season holiday rush that starts around August hasn't even hit yet. Buckle up people!

Containers are being stacked 6 high now when the typical norm is 5 high. Busting at the seams

With that said, BUY THE DIP!!!

No problem. This situation is what happens when you mix capitalism with communism on the highest economic levels.

I know this may be unpopular, but currently I’m in a position to maximize a large dip in the market. I wouldn’t be that upset. You could say I have a large sum of crash cash I’ve been building up all summer. All of my deposits this summer has been my spending money. Just happened to be more enticing to buy stuff in the market than anything else. Although if a “crash” were to happen my understanding is the market would be going back to a more normal activity level. Not the rapid increasing we saw post March 2020. So my plan would be some high dividend etfs as well as some VTI. Shout out @GarlicFarts for putting that in here. As baller as it would be to watch the market crash and chuck a crapload at some rental car company and hope something happens like $CAR had a 3x run up, I’d rather play it safe with the money I’ve been building up this summer.

it would be painful to watch my account go back down if a “crash” or “correction” did happen but It seems inevitable to dip at least some.

I bet there’s going to be a lot of mid day fishing coming up.

That sounds like a great plan. Try to get the first $6,000 sheltered in a roth

Unpopular with who? Anyone holding $GME wants the market to crash so SHF get margin called and are finally forced to cover their positions. :D - I hedged my roth with some shares for just this occasion.

Personally even if I didn't own $GME I want the market to go through a massive correction. It's so obvious that the market is a bubble slacklining above a forest of nails wearing high heel shoes lol

I did the same thing in March of 2020 and went on a buying spree that did pretty well for me, and when the market tanks again I'll be ready to dump more money in. (or GME will moon in conjunction with the market tanking (negative beta) and a few shares will cover the plethora of discounted high dividend stocks.)

This ain't wallstreetbets my friend - we're all with you

I think we're in a dip, it happens.

    upload_2021-7-19_14-8-35.jpg

I think we'll see small dips, or hell even corrections. Long of the short - the best time to buy is yesterday. Time in the market beats timing the market. If you bought ONLY at the TOP of the market right before the crashes, you still end up with like 7.5%

    https://www.approachfp.com/should-you-invest-when-markets-are-high/

There are others - long of the short, someone back tested buying only at the high peaks right before the last big 3 crashes, and over 30 years they still earned an average 7.5-8% per year, if I remember correctly. So, DCA and don't worry about buying on a market high. If you're here for 20-30 years, today vs tomorrow doesn't matter.
