I’m looking at it! I don’t understand, with the market tanking like it is today I would think T with a high yield of almost 8% would not be dropping like it is. Some of my high yield etf’s aren’t dropping much. Thoughts? Looks like a buy for T but if investors don’t see it that way….

my thought's on T is that it's a solid dividend play for late stage investing...
    it's at basically at a 3 year low....almost at 2008 low...so seems like a great buy in...
if it breaks lower, we're looking at 10-20 years lows...i.e. 20 bucks ish

in light of @Nimble9 's post above...debt has always been a 'concern' for analysts of T...with the evergrande elephant in the room.....perhaps that's why...that being said...it appears to be holding above the $26.8-26.3 floor...26.08 is the low of covid crash

I think you’re right in this. The problem is I don’t have the cash on hand to invest. I would have to sell F while it’s at a >6% drop to buy in, and the time to recover with T could be longer than my F estimated recovery to $16+ of 6-12 months.
I do have a fair amount of cash in my managed account but that’s for days like today and retirement.

Amount. 2 more quarters I think? New yield will be determined by how much further share price drops when they finalize everything.

Damn really wish I would’ve dumped the SDC calls after opening for a couple hundred instead of being -$216. I’m gonna regret that one.

Can we get a few more weeks and about 20 more % out of this thing? Cause the COVID-sale was over way too quick.

Also, I wanna see how matematically improbable the Fed/Govt response is since we have this COVID high score deficit to beat.

Also, a global pandemic and financial panic in less than 2 years? China's all in on the 'burn it all down' philosophy ain't it?

Anus ETFs still down on the day.

seekingalpha seems to think so as well: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4455421-at-and-t-a-re-rating-is-inevitable

has there been a bunch of chatter on that front?

Div amount. They announced a few months back that the dividend would be cut roughly in half and people panicked and jumped ship causing the price to drop substantially. It's still a solid company, but investors are hesitant to get back in. I'm still sitting on all of my T in hopes that it comes back up to my investment level.

@ 7% div, I was cool to add more every time it dropped below $30 and hodl while it was above. I didn't think it would drop down this low, so I'm just hodling instead of averaging down.

I know, longtime holder. But it’ll be cut by as much as 50%, and then it’s a guess as to how much or if the spin-off will pay dividends. So I’m just waiting to add until I get more details

@3.5% it is still a good dividend. People just got spoiled with the 7%. AFAIK, they have not announced the new div yield and everything online is still showing ~7%.

I get $800 or so a month from a previous job pension at the end of the month that I put into my Roth play account. I think instead of T if F is still down I will buy more and keep averaging down. You know, throw more good money after bad. I learned that here :D
