Love St. Thomas and the VIs, we recently started staying on St. John instead. If you like a less crowded (to some extent, as St. John is getting more crowded) vacation with less luxuries (on beach) but more remote, beautiful beaches, try it sometime. There are dozens of beaches all over the island, many require a bit of a hike to get to but are worth it. We drove the Jeep, and then parked and hiked in with chairs, backpack cooler, and packed lunches most days and absolutely loved it. One day did a 40 ft Sea Ray charter with friends to have a more spoiled day, but even then they take you to remote beaches to hop off, hang out, and then hop back on and continue the day.

I plan to further investigate down there. St. John, St. Kitts, St. Bartts, Tortola, DR, and Curacao are all on my list. I plan on retiring down that way. We have friends in PR who were without power for 3 months from Hurricane Maria I believe. There's still places on the island without power.

NCHL has got some volume, I'd keep an eye on CCL as well. Industry is starting to come back, and I'd suspect a jump before too much longer

St. Kitts is lowest on my list, but only bc of black/dark sand beaches that are hot as hell on the feet. We planned to to BVIs while we were there but they were having a covid wave and were pretty shut down to one day visitors. We plan to do St. John again in the spring and summer, and explore a bit more with it as home base. What I would really love to do is charter a 7 day yacht and just cruise from island to island, have a few buddies that are sailors but both just had babies so need them to grow up a bit so they can join, lol. May just charter the captain with it the first time, but that is my ideal laid back vacation

Of the islands I've seen thus far, I've like St. Thomas the most. I'm totally down to further research until retirement, or whenever I can convince the gf/fiance/wife to move after the kids are grown and out of the house. She's an RN so we can move wherever and have a job before she lands.

Same... Wife is a pharmacist and I am a lawyer, we've always said we could move down there once empty nest and still be properly licensed. I doubt it will come to fruition until our son graduates college (he's only 7) but a guy can dream
