Everyone keeps saying to hold for doge next week, as RH and others will allow users to start buying in. It’s been in steady decline since Thursday though

 

I really think the Dodge run is set up to bankrupt (Further) Robinhood...
They had instant verification for cash deposits for crypto...
Everyone puts $100 in and buys DODGE..
They then cash out at $200...
Deposits haven't even cleared yet...Robinhood doesn't have the cash to pay out the exiting positions...

 

They are floundering..
They're unable to provide the $$ for trades on rebuys because the originals haven't cleared. They can't handle the volume...

The current situation could spark off in minutes. ACATS takes some time. Not to mention they might say they won’t do an ACATS for some positions. Also not to mention they might not do ACATS for some accounts that don’t have a set amount. I tried to ACATS like 200 bucks out of RH and it went nowhere so I had to sell and transfer anyway.

depends what you have invested. A few hundred bucks - sell it off once you’re out of GME. A few grand wait until GME settles and then ACATS.

It will have to be the same type of account (ie both are individual taxable accounts). Also worth mentioning you might not be able to ACATS Ira accounts. I wasn’t able to ACATS a Roth IRA from betterment to td, they had to sell off and then transfer cash, even though it’s the same type of account.

high level: stick with RH until this current disturbance in the force shakes out.

 

most companies will only reimburse that transfer fee if moving over a certain amount as well. Something to keep in mind too.

 

oh yeah forgot to mention the fee. If it’s 50 bucks and you have like 200 bucks to move....meh. Most are in that 50-100 range.

So I have an old account with vanguard and an active Roth account.

I heard that vanguard has many shares of GME, I might buy a single share if it dips low on Monday as my middle finger to the hedge funds.

but honestly I don’t want to play with this beast, especially when I have zero clue what is going on.

 

Smart. This is what I've been recommending to my entire social circle that knows nothing about investing but keeps asking about the meme-stocks.

GAMR is a gaming etf with about 27% exposure to GME. It should rise consistently as GME goes up

 

And then?

 

You can play it on the side for a bump and sell, or hold it. It's a decent etf
