every aviation company is going to be pressured into renewable fuels soon since electric planes will take a lot longer to engineer.

Rolls Royce, a big aircraft engine manufacturer, has already completed their maiden flight with an EV powered airplane

Problem with EV planes is useful load. There's some serious bugs to work out. Can you make a plane fly with batteries and electric motors? Absolutely. In fact, I've got RC planes I fly all the time.

Can you make an electric 737 and carry a full contingent of passengers and cargo? Long ways away from that yet with current battery tech.

Maybe a realllllllly long extension cord?

yep the wide body planes we see today going full time EV is very far away, very very far away indeed

but watercraft on the other hand, some nice outboards and PWC are right around the corner

This is a pretty interesting snippet, I know some people don't like either of these dudes but it's pretty darn cool/might be closer than most think. Starts at 1:25 min in

Apparently you haven't read up on the WSGE products and designs. This is the future.

What can work is hydrogen fueled ram jets. So SST LA to London. The puddle jumper from Central Park to the Hamptons can go EV (some day sooner) for the very rich.
