Everything is so colossally fucked and sitting on a razor's edge that a rate increase of 4% would cause new debt issuance and collateral requirements (bond printing and shit like that) to basically collapse the system overnight.

The fed can't even print its way out of it anymore. Netting for existing debt is basically out of control as it is. Money keeps appearing and disappearing out of thin air. Now add an extra 4% to trillions upon trillions of dollars of chaos, and the camel's back doesn't just break, he explodes into a pink mist.
