Does anyone have any concept of how much interest the short sellers have to pay while they are waiting to buy the shorted stocks back?

The cynic in me says that the short sellers are running mad calculus on minimizing losses.. and I would think possibly coordinating amongst themselves to buy shares in low volume to keep the prices low (or conversely, to thwart the squeeze). Shares are available to buy... people are still buying them, right?

(2 GME @ avg. ~$250, but I'm not selling until rocket or memento status).
