PLEASE...Look at the 3 year chart for AMC. It was dying...The squeeze started and they nuked it. The squeeze peak was a 3 year high for the stock. Honestly, chart wise, covid doesn't even show up as an irregularity in the 3 year price...It really is a bad investment over $2-3 especially with the recent FURTHER dilution of shares...and no dividend anymore....BUT I'm just a caveman lawyer...

 

No they require it to short anything to cover losses ....

 

I'm well aware, but that's why I said "when it dips farther." And also, "may."

 

I got margin called for a brief second last week when GME nosedived. I had to dump a bunch of other shares and thankfully that kept it up above the limit by close. And by a stroke of good luck I had enough deposits that cleared to bring my cash balance over the margin limit that were settled.

I was only playing with $3k of margin and it nearly cost me quite a bit. Turned that shit off for now. Nobody taking my GME shares until I'm ready to let them go.

 

How so?

 

Mod purge, selling out, movie deals, tons of drama. It's bad over there.

Imagine if @tcBob didn't post for 10 years, and then showed up one day and booted all the moderators here that you knew were working hard to keep the site running on a day to day basis.

You wake up in the morning and there's 30 new moderators all with one day old accounts.

And then you hear that he sold his story to Honda to make a movie about his life owning tacomaworld.

On top of that, he might be in the midst of an offer to take a special new honda car public just through this site.

That's about what's going on over there.

 

Sounds like 80% are declaring defeat. You have your few main ones that are still holding strong but most of them are doing circles today

 

Yes movie theaters have been dying for a number of years. But when the lockdowns stop, and people are allowed to go out again, movie theaters will be packed!

Pretty much every post I see from people about what they want to do when lock downs are done involves either the movie theater or going to apple-bees and getting trashed. Will these theaters stick around after the big push getting out of lock down? doubt it, they charge too much for everything. But they will have a huge comeback followed by a huge decline. But this is their chance to rebrand, make it something like it used to be. Drop the horrible prices, improve the overall experience. They may try to add new services to justify the prices, but they dont need to do that. Just lower the prices and people will overrun theaters.

 

I heard that movie thing too. Doesn't surprise me at all. I actually suggested it to my brother the other day.

 

This was the big chance for drive-ins to make some good money. But there's not enough for Hollywood to still put out a bunch of movies so they pretty much had to show older stuff.
