another part of the problem is having a ban on new drilling/exploration on federal land and GOM. i mean that was done on day 1. immediately shut down something that would have only benefited us. the courts fought it, but when sent permit request this EPA/dept of interior was artificially inflating the "social cost" of the permits. so they stopped issuing permits again and any permits that make it through are getting slow walked by FERC. this also affects the refineries because they too need permission from federal emissions to expand.

so the answer is to get back on track to where we were headed before back in 2019. work in my area was booming despite oil prices being low.

The big oil companies just said on Monday they’d increase production in Texas. It has nothing to do with lack of oil. They just haven’t been pumping it full tilt because demand was down. They scaled up end of last year, but not all the way. acting like big oil would just pump everything they can to give us $1 gas. Gets too cheap, they shutdown the supply.
