Investing noob, any recco’s for solid ETF’s or funds to invest in and hold onto for long haul while market is down? Currently have some SCHG and IMCG. Could put more into those at low prices but wondering what else might be out there…

 

VTI or it’s equivalent is a fairly common one.

 

GME is a common one. It's on sale too

 

Vanguard and iShares are both very solid funds to invest in. Find one that suits your fancy. Like big boy, blue-chip stocks? Look at something that is a large cap fund or ETF.

Though not as popular, Fidelity has some 0 fee funds that my knows-just-enough-to-be-dangerous mind thinks are pretty solid.

Yeah....he asked for a solid fund or etf.....not a single smoth-brained dumpster fire stonk to lose money.

 

SNAFU for me. The market as a whole is slightly up. Everything I own is slightly down.

I did execute a Roth conversion this morning of $6k from post tax 401k to my Roth IRA. Plan to leave it in cash for a bit, waiting for “the big one Edith!” A couple hundred of gains will be taxable but I’m not concerned with that that.

As for low cost funds, since I use Fidelity FXAIX and FSKAX are my cheap funds of choice.

 

Everything's nosediving.

I’ve been hoping to moisten some of my dry powder one of these weeks

 

We got with SECU and theyre offering 1% lower, so 2.75% pending the Feds move later this month.

Still though, let's go ahead and head for sp500 3000, I am FINE with that and happy to be wrong on my predictions (though I still think it turns around before then).

I promised I'd save some bonus money for house stuff and a fancy vacation. Might get a motorcycle too
