before 2020 I never looked at the stock market.

All this talk of moon and no mention of tendies or air fryers.

We have a deep fryer. My brother-in-law came over and said that his air fryer was better and healthier. Then took a bite of food from the ordinary fryer and exclaimed "OMG, this is what I've been missing!"

Theres a mental/emotional block there for most people.

Even my mother, who is excellent with household and project budgeting, just refuses to look at investing.

With the disappearance of pensions, that is going to have to (and I believe is) change. Millenials and after are flocking to investing much more than previous gens.

We don’t really discuss investing. Not much benefit for the person dropping in if they are interested in investment strategies/discussion. If they just want to be stupid and have fun, they might stick around

You probably saw it already but I guess Will Meade twatted about BBIG. Some think that his 280K followers are causing this price action. I'm not convinced. I truly think this is organic. After we broke the 6 months downtrend 3 days ago it's held $2.90-ish. That was resistance and now it is support. Then there's also a metric shit ton of options trading for this week, next week, and monthly expiry. It's a simple trend reversal.

I really hope FOMO kicks in, ramps the chains, and then management drops TYDE next week. If that happens more FOMO kicks in and we go moon.

Yes it would. That geo-political thing going on in Europe could cause a BIG market drop if things go south. Let's hope we get some wild swings before then.

I think there is still a stigma from the different market crashes, recessions, or dips that most of the older generations still carry, along with the ideal that a good paying job is all you really need. Whether people truly believe that or are providing a front because they just don’t understand it, I don’t really know. I can say that I’ve began investing because I know:

    a) No one else is going to secure my future like they did in the past.

    b) You are not going to become wealthy if you don’t either invest or own a business.

I’m curious to know, why did you all start getting serious with investing?

I will say this, the people on 401k autopilot may not be on the fast track, but they are at least moving forward where others have their head in the ground hoping their savings will carry them through.

This would be my answer. We have good steady income from my salary, we own my wife's pharmacy (which greatly outperforms my income :anonymous:), and we have a retirement plan in place through 401(k)s and other mutual fund investments that should get us where we want to go, when we want to be there. I'm not going to have the time (without neglecting my job) to seriously take control of our investments and do a good job at it, so I'm not going to risk several hundred thousand dollars trying.

I come here for the fun part, the long shots, pumps, moons, etc... that I mess around with in my fun account, which is usually never really over $10k or so - when it is I pull some out and have spend it on stupid shit. (until GTii moons at least, then I retire early)
