Where are folks getting all the “pump and dump” tips from

like where is this being discussed or a daily ticker being handed out? Lol

I need to figure out where people are discussing that daily stock tip
Has to be somewhere to get on the gravy train before the shoot up.
Would make me watching volume make more sense and actually be able to jump in knowing it’s being chatted about haha

    obviously it’s getting mentioned somewhere
Just got to find that new spot

anyone have anything specific for today?

    This right here.

Unless inflation *skyrockets*, which is exceptionally unlikely in the semi-visible future, 12% as an average will outrun it handily and pile on growth besides. That's about 10% real return, meaning your money doubles every ~7 years. Just keep on truckin.

@slcsez2000 I'm not sure how old you are - let's assume you started at 25, and input 6k/year. 8.5 years:

    upload_2021-2-5_9-6-39.jpg

    So you're 25+8.5 = 33.5, you retire at 65, so 31.5 years left.

If you stopped contributing today, you're retire at 65 w/ 2.7 mil

    upload_2021-2-5_9-7-53.jpg

    TIME IS YOUR FRIEND PEOPLE!

12% is a normal number to assume with retirement. 8% is basically the bare minimum if you have the worst timing in the world with investments. 10% is a good number to use in actually planning, and 12% is a normal number that you shouldn't assume and plan with, but would be a relatively expected and normal upside to 10%. That's how I'm planning my retire-at-50 plans, 8% bare minimum - will it work, and 10% is a fair plan, and 12% is the expected but not guaranteed.

    Lots of good maths here:
    https://www.calculator.net/financial-calculator.html

    Here's a 401k one:
    https://www.calculator.net/401k-calculator.html

This one takes inflation into it:
    https://www.calculator.net/retirement-calculator.html

edit to add: Here's a good one too, this tells you based on inflation what you'll be looking at, plus your tax rates etc etc etc. There are a lot you can work with here that does all the math for you.

Those are good numbers, stick with it!
Time Value Money is the key.

I retired a couple years ago in my mid 40's, and last year was the first time I was able to get 40% in my portfolio, I don't plan touching my retirement funds for another 14 years. 40% is my goal this year as well, its mostly parked cash/bonds right now, maybe 30% into the market; 5G, oil, and few technology stocks. Lots of the top S&P stocks are currently overvalued, its a warning sign for me, the market has the potential to do correction/sell off like it did last March, but in a smaller fashion.

    8%: https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/042415/what-average-annual-return-sp-500.asp

    VTI closer to 13%: http://www.lazyportfolioetf.com/etf/vanguard-total-stock-market-vti/

    https://investor.vanguard.com/etf/profile/performance/vti/cumulative-returns

So, that's why you can safely say: I will have 8%, I will probably have 10%, I am likely but not guaranteed 12%.

URL there is a kicker: lazyportfolio! I have zero heartache and don't have to worry about anything, in theory. Just dump it in VTI. Just always buy VTI, and my maths says at 8% I'm good. So, if I get 10 or 12, even better! :D

    My picks:

VTI slightly outperforms VOO (which is the SP500 mirror). 0.03% ER.

SPLG same as VOO but cheaper per share so if you have less than 350, you can invest with SPLG it's the same thing. ER is 0.03 for both.

FZROX This is a mutual fund instead, but my HSA lets me buy in no-commission (via netbenefits). I use TD Ameritrade elsewhere, not fidelity, so I don't know if you can buy in commission free w/ Fidelity. Probably. ER is zero, and it is a total market fund similar to VTI
    https://seekingalpha.com/article/4340107-fzrox-why-be-better-vti-and-spy

SPY? same thing as VOO, SPLG, but the ER is 0.095%. So. :luvya:
