I spent my day planning all the hilarious jabs I'm going to give my boss on Friday while I ask him why I've taken a $1k a month paycut now due to inflation, and what the company is going to do to make sure I'm compensated appropriately.

Almost 3 years at this job. Might have to hop again for another raise.

I've not gotten a raise to counter inflation either. But I did end up with a fuel stipend check the last 3 pay periods. It's basically a tax free raise. My boss is smart like that. lol

I got a 2% raise to base in '20 and 3/4 bonus. And then a 2% raise in '21, and they halved our bonus for that year. Ok, I get it, pandemic and whatnot. '22 I got a 3% raise to base and a full bonus, but I mean I'm still way in the hole here from '20 lol.

I work in sales. People are knocking on my door every day with attractive offers. I really do like my company and the people I work with, but you know. Money talks.

My job pushed annual evals from Feb to Sept in a highly suspicious "policy change".

I assume they were hoping for a return to normal YOY rates by then so they can pretend inflation isn't cumulative.

I expect they'll still screw us either way.

You guys do realize that your employer didn't cause inflation and isn't immune to it right?

Everyone wants their employer to pay them more because of inflation, and then their employer can charge more for whatever goods/services they provide, so all that new money we get paid buys less, and inflation goes up more, and we get paid more again. And this continues until we all make 5 million a year. Then we can deflate everything but everyone keeps their new salary. It’s a perfect plan

Yeah, but who cares? Same goes for every employee, they didn't cause it either. We have an agreement that I do a job for X price per hour. If they want to change the price, then I change (or decline entirely) the job.

They have pricing power over the production from their business, I have pricing power over my hours.

There's a lot of pretending going on. Did you check out JPM's earnings? They barely beat both top and bottom. That was only possible because they excluded losses tied to Russian sanctions. Yeah, we'll just pretend we didn't lose that money. While we're at it what other losses can we tie to Russia to make it look like we did good. lol

I could teach them how to accept their losses.

when you take $6500 out of your account for taxes and it's -6500 at the open...and then markets market and a few hours later you're only -$3200....
    YAY...
Now I prepare for the inevitable call from TD "Why did you make a withdrawal? Are you dissatisfied?"

    "Yup...with taxes..."

Someone P&D'ed $LTUM on a $TSLA buyout rumor. Jumped to $1 and back down to $0.30
