He didn't even have to have the $$$...He used some of his Tesla shares as collateral for a loan...
Now he just writes covered calls...and pays off the loan...

    Something like 6%.

    Six. Percent.

That's paying $6k for something if you have $100k net worth.

Just follow the options chain. It'll run to $7ish by Wednesday. Then THUR/FRI they'll push it under max pain to keep the premiums. Max is sitting at $4.50 for this week. So, once it hits $6.50 I'll sell some $8 covered calls. It worked perfectly last week. I'll have my whole cost basis covered in a month if they keep it up. lol

Yea, I did that with BBIG. It worked for a bit, and now it’s been shit for months.

I keep telling you. No TYDE. No rocket. I'm actually reading the 8K they dropped today for the Adrizer acquisition. They also included Adrizers financials for 2020, 2021 and Q1 2022. In all of 2021 AdRizer made $1.17M. In Q1 2022 they've already made $843K. Fuck yeah.

Then you get to the fine print notes. Very, very, very bottom of the filing is this:

It's part of the buyout of the preferred share holders from Adz.

"up to 10 million shares of Vinco Ventures, Inc.’s common stock to be issued on January 1, 2024, determined by dividing $50 million by the volume weighted average price of the Company’s common stock reported by Bloomberg LP for the 20 trading days preceding such date, subject to a floor price of $5.00 and maximum price of $8.00 per share"

$5 bucks here we come. Again. lol

Took a gander at the YTD on the 'ole boomerfolio.

That was a mistake. I have one, ONE ticker that's actually net positive after my "guy" reshuffled the portfolio late last year (causing me a shitload in cap gains taxes too, btw).

    upload_2022-4-25_20-50-44.jpg

Up $1200. Everything else is net red right now. I'm starting to think I might know more about value investing than this guy...

Oh, he made me $400 on this too. wooo

Maybe, but I think the rally doesn't come until the Fed says "we're done with rates for the moment".

    Until then, we get volatility.

Last September I sold all my stocks, everything, and got hammered on cap gains. Didn't want to do it but now I'm glad I did with Son planning college, etc... So instead of putting it in the bank I turned it over to the "pro's". If I didn't know better I'd say we have the same guy, I now have the same green and EVERYTHING else is red and over diversified IMHO.
I'm going to give it until September and maybe rethink this strategy. Anything I do now is short term and we're at the mercy of the market.
I'd love to tell you about the conversation I had with my advisor last Friday before the open but I can't for obvious reasons and I like this forum.

    Hey!

    Apologies for not responding sooner.

I have a Roth IRA and Traditional IRA. The Traditional is with Schwabb and has monies available to invest. The Roth is running on it's own with me putting money into it.

I've spoken to Schwabb Reps a couple of times and they very knowledgeable. Some are more skilled in their explanation and boy did I feel like I had a lot to learn.

Back to the Traditional IRA, I have yet to read the article/page I initially received from the Rep (because dumb me just hasn't decided to learn). lol

Once I figure out the differences between the two options...then I'll have to learn what to look for in a stock and decide what to buy.

As most newcomers to this type of transaction...I'm a little gun shy! lol

Thanks for reaching out and responding to my comment.

Roth is after tax, gains are not taxed.

Traditional is pre tax, you pay taxes when you use it in the future - similar to a 401k. Having a rollover IRA is a good idea, when you leave a job, roll your 401k into the IRA. That way you only have two retirement accounts, 1 when you retire. A lot of people just leave 401ks with their old jobs. Then you have like 7 accounts, all paying fees, and all needing to be maintained and tracked.

I'd recommend boomer stonks if you're playing with retirement accounts. All my long term retirement and boring stuff is in VTI/VTSAX which is vanguards total market fund, but it's essentially a SP500 fund with extra salsa. VOO/VFIAX is the vanguard SP500 fund, just mirrors the SP500. SPY works too. And I know fidelity has an SP500 fund too, I just don't know the symbols. It's not an uncommon fund to find.

Either way - that's where I'd go (and do go). Retirement and stuff you want to have for your future isnt a gamble. Dick around with GME and other shenanigans on your own ticket, not your retirement.

    Thanks for the info!

I'm also fully retired USAF so I'm getting a retirement check already plus I'm still working.

These are the days to put away as much as possible (my mother reminds me) because once retired, that income is gone! Self-explanatory but needs to be said.

I'll heed your advice on the last sentence you wrote.
