Oh all the banks knew well ahead of time that with the leverage he had if things went tits up they were fucked. Didn't stop them one bit. Credit Suisse aside, the American banks keep fucking around like this constantly because the bailout precedent has been set.

The amount of derivatives leverage the big US banks are carrying will sink them all overnight if the wind shifts in the wrong direction.
