Could be, only thing that doesn't compute is low unemployment, high unemployment being a hallmark of stagflation. But if we recession it up and there's a ton of layoffs...well.

I don't think the strategy has changed though. I think assets come out in better shape on the far end of whatever happens than anything else.

I'm getting a kick out of BBIG's gapped up giant RED candle on the daily. It did close lower then it opened but the last time a daily candle gapped up that big and that far outside of the Donchian channel it ran to $12 six days later.

ATER's doing some chugging along AH's. Which is good because it got smacked down hard today.

NVDA needs to close that gap at $150 and I'm all in. It's a very small gap though so I don't know if it's gonna happen. Unless it does. lol

TYDE just dropped it's amended Form 10. I'll be reading for a bit.

I'm still reading but there's always the usual disclaimers about failure to meet obligation. So far it's set in stone TYDE will have 100M shares. 20.3M will be handed out to BBIG stockholders. The others will not be touched and Hudson Bay cannot transfer it's Class A stock to Class B. They made it very clear they plan on locking the float at 20.3M. Rad.

Expected distribution date is still MAY 27. Let's see if the SEC get's off it's ass and approves it. They've already applied for listing on the DAQ as soon as the SEC green lights the Form 10 they have been accepted.

I think manufacturing is gonna swoop in to save us from stagflation. Covid woke a lot of people up to how important self sufficiency is and being aware of where the stuff you buy is coming from, who's making it, how it's made. I'm starting to see a lot more stuff with 'made in usa' on the packaging even basic stuff in the grocery store. That'll probably hold it off for at least a little while

I'll have to finish reading it this weekend. It's been a long week.

Stock holder equity is $16M. Depending on how forward it trades that puts the intrinsic value at least $4 a share at 5 to 1.

lol. What kind of manufacturing? We're still a year out on the semiconductor plants we laid ground on in Pheonix last year.

    Steel production? Consumable goods? Oil?

Sure we can switch to domestic manufacturing but two things have to happen first (and good luck)

    1. A bunch of the EPA laws will need relaxed or have clauses amended to them

    2. We've gotta build and staff the production facilities. Even something as simple as manufacturing a domestic toothbrush is going to take considerable time and money to tool up for.

Lastly, the people with the capital to bring manufacturing back to the US are quite content to sit and wait this out and scoop up cheap assets along the way before they go right back to doing what they're doing. Public sentiment of the poors to be more self sustainable doesn't mean anything on a national scale.

In my day job, there are zero companies in the Canada, the US, or Mexico that manufacturer one of our core product lines. It's something almost every worker in every industry uses. We'd be 2+ years bringing that manufacturing capability to the US, and that's if we could get the raw materials....which all come from overseas as well.

In a past life I was involved with AC electric motor manufacturing and distribution. The environmental nightmare of trying to set up a motor plant anywhere in the US that could compete with chinese (or other asian) prices would be almost impossible to pass through congress. The motors that run everything from your air conditioner to the turbine pumps on farms all come from overseas with foreign steel, iron, and copper.

One last edit on my manufacturing tirade. One thing we are actually very good at is manufacturing almost all of our needed material handling equipment domestically. Of course, all of that uses foreign metals, but at least if we could get the rest of the US manufacturing up to speed and somehow get all the iron and steel we need, we can produce enough forklifts and loading docks to keep it moving around.

What goes with that beer? A lock up the cat burger of course… So named because I have to lock the cat in the bathroom while I make it otherwise he’s liable to eat any one of the ingredients when I turn my back... including the bun.
Woodfire grilled half pound burger to medium rare. Topped with a Gouda and sharp cheddar, thick cut bacon, roasted jalapeños, spring mix lettuce topped with a spicy mustard barbecue sauce. Garnish liberally with tater tots. upload_2022-5-6_23-49-39.jpgupload_2022-5-6_23-49-39.jpg

lol relax i'm just speculating that i could see it happening, at least a little more than the past few years. Didn't mean it as cold hard fact nor did i mean for it to read that way. I very well could be wrong

This is it right here the environmental regulations on foreign companies especially in China and India are so lax that we could never compete with their production costs. There’s a reason the rivers are flammable in India and flowing with the pig carcasses in China. If we could somehow get a world entity to enforce pollution regulations throughout the world then the cost of manufacturing would go up high enough for it to become profitable domestically. If not then you have to convince US citizens to pay more for items in order to benefit the environment. They would rather buy a $70,000 car and pretend to be saving the world than spend $1.00 extra on a T-shirt.

A fair amount of people are waking up to this is my point. Though i agree it ain't gonna happen on a large scale and not enough to fight of stagflation long term but enough to be a deer in the road for a minute

I couldn’t guess the percentage of my company’s business that solely exist based upon EPA regulations, but it’s in the tens of millions a year just to be sure there aren’t any accidental pollution issues. I can’t fathom the level of pollution that exists in countries where they just don’t give a fuck. We get a hit for some minor secondary analyte and our clients go apeshit because they’re over the EPA regulations limits. Retest. Resample. They do not want to be found to be in violation of anything. That’s why it bothers me so much when people claim the United States is “polluting” we have some of the strictest if not the strictest regulations in the world for our businesses.

There's actually a really simple solution to all of this.

No individual needs to have a billion dollars, and close up all the tax loopholes. Let the money actually trickle down and the world will be far better off for it. 1st world oligarchy with iphones is good for nobody aside from the people that own the iphone factories. Y'all are getting fucked lol.

This is my favorite dead-give away phrase that the poster adheres to fantasy economics.

Increased taxation of producers does two things: Either the tax gets passed on to end consumers or the wealth leaves the taxing jurisdiction. Neither is good for working people of modest means.

I've said it a million times: You cannot make lives better by discriminating on property rights. Equal rule of law is key.
