Every now and then it's ok to pat oneself on the back, and trust me, I have plenty of stupid trades too. I'll get to that in a sec.
But this one I'm proud of, albeit only one contract.

When I wrote the above, I drew my lines and crunched the numbers before I went outside. Instead of using $1.20, I used $1.35.

Now if ya'll pull up today's option trades and look at the QQQ 5/11 $305 calls, you'll see the low of the day was $1.35.
77,161 contracts traded, and I bagged the low of the day.

It's kinda like getting a hole-in-one in golf. It happens, but its rare. I've done it plenty of times, (unlike golf lol) but anyway... that was me @$1.35

I came back in a few minutes later just to check on things, and grabbed the quick $50.
I should have held, but I do like to take a high percentage profit (based on the cost) and that one was just over 35%.

But in the stupid trades dept, I bought 2 5/20 $36 calls on UPST when it was around 33.50
As it was dropping. Ie, I bought early. I got in at $3.90
Watched it drop to the low $29's
It bounced back some. Still down though.

Plenty of time left, but I had Cramer on earlier in the background, and he just bashed the spit out of the CEO lol.
I see it dropped during the show.

Shipping has been in the shitter since the COVID shutdowns. They can't get containers off the ships fast enough and can't find anyone to drive them when they do.

Going the other way: Eurozone uses a lot of diesel and they're no longer buying from Russia, by and large, meaning they have to get it from somewhere else. Those elses are not set up to feed that sudden new demand. So this could end up being a big ol economic kick in the pills. I'm just thinkin' out loud.

 

I'm betting headline is higher than March, but again only because of gas/energy just like March. I bet if you subtract out energy everything else looks further improved.

Which, of course, doesn't really matter if energy and fuels stay through the roof. That's why it's an index.
