Just back from four days on the water with no cell service only to find out I have not become immeasurably wealthy while I was gone, damn :(

On the bright side I may have made just enough to cover fuel costs for the trip so I guess that's cool

I love how she gets an "honorable" title on her little name card. Look where she gets her speaking fees. She's as corrupt and bought as anyone else.

The Honorable Kairo says go piss in the wind. And she says "Um" and "And" like some kid in high school trying to recite a book report.

    Booo I say, booo!

lol that doesn’t work, you can’t just take percentages and subtract, you have to look at amounts spent on each category and factor that in as well. Tell you what stick with 6.5% less food and energy and I’m with you on the data just gtfo throwing out 4% without a link to that figure.:D
Here’s a hint, the real figures work ;)

I'm not subtracting, I'm averaging, which is the proper way to calculate when excluding percentages. If you exlcude a percentage and average the remaining percentages, you get an average rate for *all the stuff not excluded*. This is data 101.

No, this is impossible. There are 330+ million people in the US who all spend different amounts in different categories. Over 65s as a group, for example, have much higher healthcare expenditures than under 65s as group, and much lower housing costs. For under 65s, it is of course the opposite.

You made this up and it has nothing to do with how CPI is actually computed. This is exactly why you average as I mentioned above - because we cannot survey the entire population of the US to find who how much they each spend per category, let alone monthly. Hence the use of representative samples. Anyone familiar with stats knows why population sampling is important for accuracy in data gathering.

This was also the impetus for the "depending on your spending habits" phrase in my last reply.

I linked you the data AND did the math for you. At this point, you're just in denial.

I’m an engineer. I frequently deny bad math and false claims lol. My link has the facts. Didn’t even see a 4% in your link ;)

We both linked the BLS. You chose the April numbers for some reason rather than March, but whatever. We can look at whatever set of data you prefer and can calculate from there.

Make your case - calculate out inflation of the "All Items Less Food and Energy" excluding vehicles. Explain your methodology and show your work and we can talk about it. I did as much for you.

It's a classic, watch it. Even if you don't like sport's type movies, it's one you need to see at least once.

    No. Just no.

What's more boring then baseball? A movie about baseball.

Except Moneyball. It's more about the money then the ball. That one is worth a watch.

Sports related shows and movies are usually the corniest shit ever ever. I can handle highlight reels and the occasional soccer game n march madness. Much prefer actually playing sports

Moneyball is an emotional business movie. Field of Dreams is an emotional chick flick with a bunch of dudes. It's still a good movie. Get really drunk or high and bask in the nostalgia of good 'ole America when you were a kid and everything wasn't quite so fucked up. That's what Field of Dreams is.

Nope. There's a lot of shit sports movies and there's a few really great sports movies that transcend the sport into something really good.

A billion people might hate Bagger Vance, but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. Same with Field of Dreams, Moneyball, Behind the Curve, and even the fucking Mighty Ducks.
