It will. Just not soon enough for me, or you, or @Iwilltaco or anyone else holding. Lots of fuckery is afoot. The short exempts are massive. The daily SI % is massive. The dark pool trading is massive. When this whole MEME thing started I kept reminding everyone you where fucking with the smartest guys in the room. I traded plenty of MEME stocks for a quick flip. BBIG is the only one I went into knowing it would be a longish hold. Turns out it's been LONGGGGGGGG but those fuckers are smart and have plenty of money and bullets. Eventually they'll flip long.

That "eventually" might already be starting. AAPl and GOOG have until July 8th to respond to the request from the FCC that they remove TT from the app stores. Then today TT admits "some" of it's Chinese employees can access info from US users. Will it get banned? Who the fuck knows. Did TT go from IPO in 2017 to a $50B company in 5 years. Yep. 800M MAU in the US might, and I stress might, have to look for another short form video app. Maybe GME will make one? lol

Then there's TYDE. It's CTB is already 299%. And it's only been trading 2 days. Yeah, something ain't right there. Due Bill Redemption on the 5th. Forced liquidation to cover the div on the 11th. Monthly options on the 15th. Have we been fucked out of similar scenarios before? Yep. However, simply by law of averages eventually we have to have a run. lol

Robinhood won't let you buy that contract on the day it expires unless you have the cash (or available margin) in your account to actually buy 100 shares at $282.50. You could have bought Monday's, and for the most part aside from costing more, they pretty much move the same. Percent-wise. There's a slight decrease in delta, but not enough to mean anything. So yeah, you wouldn't have been allowed to buy that at .12.

I forgot about that for you guys. Monday's would have probably been like $1.45 at the time, so you would have to have $145 settled cash in your account, and as long as it stayed out of the money on Monday (Tuesday in this case since we have 7/4) you could keep the contract open.

Where Robinhood would get nervous, and probably auto-exercise a sale of your contract (at the market), is if it was in the money after 2PM on Monday.

Real brokers would call, and let you know that you have a contract in the money that expires that day, that is if you didn't have the funds to take it to expiration at 4:15. You can tell them you're watching it and you'll close by eod. You can always assign a market on close order, but those are dangerous. You can get screwed by a mm.

The brokers have to do this because they can get burned. Imagine something happened and the markets crashed overnight. They'd be stuck holding the bag. And it's like this with any option on anything. They'll let you buy a call on a $1000 stock on Thursday, but no way they'll let you buy that same option after a certain cutoff time on Friday morning. I'm sure Robinhood spells their policy out somewhere in their TOS.
