I do wonder about what "they" intend to do about this generation-long shortage of workers we're gonna have.

I mean, there's a whole lot of old people gonna need babysitting and they wont pay anyone to babysit em.

I can’t believe you are advocating for another pandemic to target the elderly. Not cool

It's either that or we freeze/starve the young poor to death over the winter so they stop consuming shit.

They have a life of economic potential ahead of them. I say we feed them the elderly.

Until I get elderly of course. Then we 180 all this.

I've got a pretty large watch list. It's all red. Not a single green blip anywhere. Good times.

I was about to respond to this w/ talking about rent control + dense population cities (LA, NYC) - then the next sentence you already hit the nail on the head.

So - funny story. Model rocket engines have a few numbers with them.

    https://www.apogeerockets.com/education/downloads/Newsletter486.pdf

The A B C etc is the power. The first number is how hot and fast it burns, then the last number (what we care about) is the dwell time. After a rocket goes up, the dwell time is how long before it pops off the parachute. Well, you can also use that pop to light a SECOND engine, for a two stage!

We built these in high school for a tech arts project or something. My friend made a two stage, because why not. He lit that baby off, it went up mint. It dwelled.....a bit too long. Turned sideways and then lit, that thing became a projectile shooting straight toward the old folks home across the field.

We never knew what happened to it. Never found it. No old people reported seeing a rocket fly through their open windows, so it became Schrodinger's rocket.

Is it @boyk (heh, is he banned? name ain't coming up) or @Iwilltaco - maybe it was @rmepilot who was talking about it. Minimum wage jobs aren't meant to sustain a household. Minimum wage is for the high schoolers and college students still living at home, off their parents health care plans, etc. The ice cream scooper isn't supporting a family or buying a house on minimum wage. As you age and learn, you shouldn't be looking for minimum wage. There's a lot more to it, but there should be plenty of service industry from working from 15Y thru approx. 22Y depending on college majors (if I was hired as a minimum wage intern as an engineering student, I'd laugh out the door). Or retirees, living with SS/retirement income, I know my grandfather looked for a job just for something to do.

Anyway point is, this whole "minimum wage should support a family" argument is, in my mind, part of the issue at hand. It should also be more accessible for education so that those who are 22-25 aren't still working minimum wage jobs, but are progressing careers toward skilled positions - trades or not.

Elderly care has always been a disaster. You either pay the premium, or anything anyone can afford is not a friendly place to be. Plus you put a bunch of stubborn old people back into living in dorm-like conditions? YEESH. Guess what happens? They are all grumpy at each other, they all drink and party a lot, and they all have a TON of old people ball-slappin' bone-downs. STDs in nursing homes are huge. It's a geriatric orgy. It's essentially just like going to college but without the classes, and with a lot more wrinkles.

Hot damn. It was popping off pre-market when I looked. Now it's.... not.

As of posting this, $MRO is the only green on my watchlist. Very well may change in the next 10 minutes.

I was pretty sure CPI would miss. I'm pretty sure PPI will as well. Let's see if MoM retail spending and the UI figures can help keep the markets from a complete loss this week.

GTII is OTC, when markets open, OTC stuff lags a bit and still shows yesterdays numbers. This was just taken. Note the market time column for the other 2, they're current or off by seconds, where as GTII is almost 20 minutes behind.

So because of the idiosyncrasies of subscriptions to trade data… You can’t get live trade quotes but you can get live level two quotes for OTC without an account. If there’s enough volume to level two quotes equal to trade prices
