    keeping jersey dirty
Stealing at least one thing from Target every time you go has become a younger-generation shitpost type 'joke'. Like it's legitimately a trend now to steal from Target

Now, I am not a yute no more. I don't pretend to be, but I DO think I have more of a grasp with the current yutes than many my age. Not all, I know a few who still hang out around college campuses, have 10 year younger siblings so still have that connection, etc.

Regardless. I told myself I won't complain about yutes and their trends. I even laugh at the mullet coming back. Other than the Broccoli haircut, which shouldn't have taken hold to begin with - that's stupid.

Anyway, this whole thing was to say - I don't know this one.

Here's this from July 2020 too.

Then again, hard to feel bad.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I did that once for a bacon explosion. It was baked however, not smoked. Still delicious.

    Like any crime...or illness...
are they just keeping better track due to margins getting tighter?
I wonder if reported instances vs actual...
Believe me I'm sure people have always been stealing I just wonder if (as walmart doesn't report "Shrink" numbers) more retailers being open about a problem they are more reticent to absorb...

I'm guessing it's more inventory shortages. IE SAP says we have 12 shirts, in fact during physical inventory, we had only 6. 6 shirt shortage - they just write that off as stolen.

Yea...and then is it incompetence or theft?
How many times have I had an in store app open "Hey, it says you have 3 of these in aisle 24 bay 16..."
    Yea that's not accurate...
    Why?
    Cuz it just isn't

Or BJ's who tells me they have NO IDEA what their inventory is on an item because even though their app says they have 100+ of an item "It can be lost in the stacks and until someone moves it we won't have a location on it"

    WTF?

Right, but that's the thing - if it shows as in the store, but it's not, where has it gone? A negative inventory variance means it's missing, so they just attribute it all to theft.

Meanwhile another store has a + variance for the same - at this store, because the pallet went to the wrong place.

Then you add more stores, more people, etc etc - and your numbers go up. Per capita it's probably similar.

Thanks Nick, I'll have to search that one on the goog and see what comes up :D

I'm kind of on the fence about this. I ran some numbers and if they have 2000 stores then they would average $16,666 in loses per store per month or $555.56 a day (roughly). That's like someone walking out with a tv every day. Or you have 100 people walking out with $5.56 worth of crap every day.

I mean it's plausible but I'm sure there was some rounding of figures.

o_O every store I know has loss prevention but they basically just sit around and watch. If anything happens, they say "Hey stop", but then if the thief splits, they don't run after them (or at least are told not to), no physical contact, etc etc. More a deterrent than anything.

At least the big dogs. The local mom and pops you might have Pappa Jim in your face if you tried to steal something

Your white new balance shoes are in the mail good sir.

Check reddit too. Turkey is NOT forgiving. Pork shoulders, briskets, they are very forgiving. Turkey is not, if you under-do it, you're screwed. If you over-do it, you're screwed. And the window is tight. Pork - the temps can swing, and the "done" window is pretty wide.

You're going to want to spatchcock, I believe, for a whole bird like that. I've never done one though, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I've done thighs and legs, not a whole bird. But my first thought would be "Yeah time to spatch this co...." you know what I mean...

No but it dramatically increased the amount of carrots sold.

Turkey can be done right but most don't. Not gonna lie. Also don't stuff the bird.

    Potatoes are great.

My in laws do a lasagna because why not. It's a great addition.

secret to great turkey day stuffing is....
Make your own breadcrums from stale bread...
    GROUND SAUSAGE....
Stuffing Muffins. Instead of cooking a big pot...bake individual muffins of stuffing. That way everyone gets a crispy top and a moist bottom....
