Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of the hippy dippy vegan nonsense either. I hate the "fake chick'n" crap. If I'm not eating meat, I want to KNOW I'm not eating meat. Is it a tofu? Fine. I enjoy a good tofu, I make it myself a fair amount of the time too.

This stuff is actually pretty good. I'm just secure enough in my manhood to enjoy vegetables

I like veggies too. But it better be the side dish to my steak. If the DR says I have to stop eating meat well I choose death then. I hate tofu. And all the beyond meat things. No thanks.

Most oils are "seed" oils. Hell, grapeseed oil is the way to go. Plus it's cheaper.

Beyond != tofu - it's a wheat protein somethingorother. I use tofu, hardly do the beyond stuff at all.

 

All this talk about beyond and tofu....I cant wait for the butcher to be done with my cow.

You don't. I HATE it when the vegan crap claims "Tastes just like X!"

F off. I WANT to not have X, that's why I'm having tofu/whatever else.... stop making it be chicken/beef/whatever. I am intentionally not eating that, why would I want to have a simulation of it?

Good news, I have lard/tallow as well! I render my own from fat scraps, plus bacon grease is accumulated too. Don't eat much bacon though (never have).

Use the sliced ones instead of the whole ones, I just dumped the whole can in. I think next time I'll use fresh peppers instead of the jarred. And I've used potato roll instead of ciabatta. Highly recommend.

I'll do it again sometime in the not too distance future with a pork loin roast instead of a beef chuck roast.

Also there is an Indian food called samosas. I didn’t know they were vegetarian. Very good.
