ADS-B was optional, but became mandatory in 2020, IIRC. There was pressure on the FAA to protect aircraft owner's privacy, so there is (or was supposed to be; could be?) a portal you could go to in order to opt out of public tracking sites/databases.

You gonna be around shortly? Looks like they're gonna axe around 20k employees in the near future. Apparently mostly mid-level corporate folks are going bye bye, so if you're not in Seattle you might escape the purge.

I work for "AMZL" which is the delivery arm. There are no layoffs happening there at all. Still building out the infrastructure albeit at a much slower pace. I would say I'm 100% safe at this point. 20,000 is a pretty small % of total employees across all of Amazon. It's a drop in the bucket. Sure, if you're 1 of 20,000, sucks to be you, but the odds are still in your favor of being safe.

We need more people out of work! Why won’t they listen to me and stop screwing around with little rate hikes. Murder the economy already so we can move on :D

Yea, they are going to softly land us with the SP at 2100, but since it’ll take 2 years to get there, it’ll feel gentle
